Abstract

The digital transformation of the financial sector has encouraged religious educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), to adopt cashless payment systems in order to improve the efficiency and transparency of financial management. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of financial innovation through the ESAKU cashless payment system at Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wal Karomah, identify the factors that support and hinder its effectiveness, and examine its impact on financial management and economic behavior. This research employed a qualitative descriptive-interpretative evaluative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation involving pesantren administrators, financial managers, system administrators, and students as the primary users of the ESAKU service. The findings indicate that the ESAKU cashless payment system is effective in enhancing transparency, accountability, and efficiency in pesantren financial management, although challenges related to digital literacy and human resource readiness remain. The study recommends strengthening training programs, improving digital literacy, and reinforcing internal policies to support the sustainable implementation of digital financial systems.
