Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of innovative learning approaches in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti [PAIBP]) to address students' learning difficulties at SMP Istiqlal Kotaanyar. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was condu reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings cted using an interactive model consisting of data revealed that teachers implemented various instructional innovations, including outdoor learning, cooperative learning, experiential learning, the use of visual learning media, and value-based learning. The implementation of outdoor learning enhanced students' motivation and engagement through the utilization of the surrounding environment as a learning resource. Cooperative learning promoted active participation, communication skills, and collaboration among students. Experiential learning enabled students to develop a more contextual understanding of the subject matter through direct experiences, whereas the use of visual learning media improved students' attention, concentration, and comprehension of the learning materials. Furthermore, value-based learning played a significant role in internalizing Islamic values and strengthening students' religious character development. The findings indicate that the integration of these various instructional innovations effectively addressed students' learning difficulties in a comprehensive manner and fostered a more active, contextual, collaborative, and meaningful learning process. Therefore, innovative instructional practices in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAIBP) represent an effective strategy for improving both the quality of the learning process and learning outcomes at the junior secondary school level.
