This study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the use of pictures as instructional media. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted at MTs Husnul Ri'ayah, Asahan. The participants of this study were 25 students from class VII A. Data were collected and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The quantitative results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' speaking proficiency, with a marked increase in the average scores after the implementation of sequence pictures as a learning medium. Qualitatively, the findings revealed that students' motivation and interest in learning English improved substantially during the sessions. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of pictures as a medium in English subjects is effective in enhancing the speaking skills of seventh-grade students at MTs Husnul Ri'ayah. Based on these results, it is recommended that English teachers utilize this media as an effective strategy to develop students' communicative competence in the classroom.
