Teaching English using literature, in this case novels, has proven to be effective in increasing students' motivation to learn English. In order to understand the content of the novel and criticize it, it is necessary to have the competence to conduct discourse analysis. This study aims to describe the discourse presented in the novel Tenggelamnya Kapal Van Der Wijck by Buya Hamka using a psycholinguistic approach. The goal is achieved by providing a simple story and psycholinguistic approach diagram that makes the storyline structure and discursive cooperation value depicted in the novel 'Tenggalmnya Kapal Van Der Wijck' by Buya Hamka.
