Fitria, Lailatul. 2022. The Implementation of Storytelling Technique to Increase Student’s Reading Comprehension for Twelfth Grade of Social Program Student at MAN 1 Probolinggo. Storytelling technique is a reading technique which used to get information of the text through analysis the text, imaginative skills, predicting, discussing and concluding reading results from a story text. This research aims to know student’s reading comprehension of twelfth-grade of Social program student and to know the process of implementing storytelling technique on increasing student’s reading comprehension achievement of twelfth grade of social program student. This research used Classroom Action Research method. This research was declared successful with 1 cycle because it was seen from the result of pre-test and post-test. After giving the pre-test, the researcher gave the treatment and the steps in teaching learning process were: (1) the researcher asks one of student to guide her friends to read the story loudly. (2) the researcher asks to discuss and guess the meaning of the text with their friend (3) the researcher analyses the meaning of the text the story text with all students together. (4) the researcher invites the student to describe setting and events in the text. (5) the researcher asks students to retell the text depend on their understanding. (6) the researcher asks questions relate to the text to know whether students have comprehended the text or not. After giving the treatment, the researcher gave the post-test. The student average of pre-test is 60, and post-test is 80,4, and the students became more active and enthusiastic during learning process. It is shown that student’s reading comprehension increase in post-test, and therefore, the implementation of storytelling to improve student’s reading comprehension is successful.
