Masrufah. 2022. Mistaken in Vocabulary Mastery: Narrative Inquiry on EFL Students SMP Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. undergraduate program Nurul Jadid University. Advisor (I) Syaiful Islam, M.Pd, Advisor (II) Bradhiansyah Tri S, M.Pd

This study was aimed to find out mistaken in vocabulary mastery: narrative inquiry on EFL students. This study was conducted by using Narrative Inquiry. It was done through 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The population of the research was students of SMP Nurul Jadid. To get the sample, the researcher took three students from seventh F who has writing mistaken in vocabulary. This research applied qualitative data. Which were taken from observation, interview, note, voice recording and transcript data. The research found out that there are some mistaken vocabulary masteries: narrative inquiry on EFL students. The result findings indicated that the researcher found some research finding to answer the research questions in the introduction (problem statement) that is the mistaken made by the students in this study can summarized that all student got difficult to re-write the vocabulary that have been given by their teacher because the teacher just focusses on memorizing instruction not in writing. These latter one included student lack of vocabulary mastery in academic writing skill and their limited knowledge. To solve all mistaken in vocabulary mastery which face by students. The solution is Teacher must always review various material and practicing what students have learned. Because more practice makes perfect. All of the findings were gotten from the data that were collected by the researcher. The findings of this study show that the formation of identity of the three Indonesian EFL learners was faced mistaken in vocabulary. the vocabulary of the students inaccurate in the use of words and lack of practice from the teacher.
