Qomariah, Rifdatul.2022.” Boosting Student Speaking Skill Through Video Recording Assignment in 7th Grade of Mtsn 01 Probolinggo”. Undergraduate program Nurul Jadid University Paiton Probolinggo. Advisor (I) Syaiful Islam M. Pd. Advisor (II) Bradhiansyah T. S. M. Pd.

The research is about the students’ speaking skill through video recording assignment in 7th grade of Mts 01 Probolinggo in academic year 2021.The objective of this research is to find out the improvement of students’ speaking skill by video recording as student assignment .The researcher used classroom action research which consists of two cycles, and each cycle consist of three meetings. The subject of this research was the students of class VII.C in academic year 2021. The procedure of collecting data the researcher used observation and speaking test, furthermore in analyzing data the researcher used qualitative and quantitative data, the qualitative data collected through observation, and the quantitative data collected through evaluation. The quantitative data was measured from two speaking skill aspects namely students’ accuracy which included pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary then speaking fluency included the smoothness. Each aspect was classified into excellent, very good, good, fairly good, poor, very poor. The result of the research at the pre-test was inadequate with the student mean score was only 57,9. The data showed that there still lack of students’ ability both of accuracy and fluency aspect. Besides, after conducting this researh in the first cycle shows that student mean score is increase to 63,6 with the persantage of student who passed the KKM was 16,6% and at the second cycle the were significant improvement that student mean score is 77 with the persantage of student who passed the KKM is 70%.
