This research aims to find out the implementation of wattpad to improve students‟ recount text writing skill in second grade of excellent science program of MA Nurul Jadid. The class consists of 23 students. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was the research design used in this study. Kemmis and McTaggart‟s approach was employed in classroom action research. There have been two cycles to this research, which include planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Every cycles have four meetings in it. Through tests, observations, and interviews, the data is revealed.
The research‟s findings suggest that using Wattpad media has improved students‟ ability to write recount texts. The data showed that the pre-test average score was 59,78, the cycle I test average score was 77,17, and the cycle II test average score was 82,17. Three students, or 13% of the total, obtained the KKM score on the pre-test results; sixteen students, or 60.6%, did so in the cycle I test; twenty-one students, or 91.3%, did so in the cycle II test.
Based on the success criteria, the researcher is said to successful if 80% of students get average score at least 75. Thus, it can be concluded that this two-cycle research was beneficial in enhancing students‟ ability to write recount texts. To put it another way, it is advised that second grade students in excellent science program of MA Nurul Jadid use Wattpad media to practice conducting recount texts is optimal results.
