Writing is the non-verbal use of language and can also be used to communicate with others and express ideas, opinions, and feelings. Teaching writing courses through teaching method themselves is more effective and efficient. These methods can help students understand the material presented by the teacher. Teaching methods are necessary to achieve the goals of teaching and learning, and only when teacher use good method in the classroom can the teaching effect be achieved. The objectives of this study were to understand in teaching method used by the teacher in teaching writing at FLDI.
In this study, the researcher conducted a descriptive qualitative analysis of the data. The subjects of this investigation were an English teacher at FLDI. The data collection tools used in this study were observation and interview. Then, the researcher does analyse the data.
The results of this study show that the method used by teacher in FLDI and indicates that the direct method is primarily used to teach. The teacher uses this method to make students enjoy and teachers enjoy writing and to teach them to write well in the correct structure of the target language, and suggests that teachers should use appropriate methods to enhance students' writing skills.
