Abstract

Nabila. 2024. Self-Efficacy and Learning Motivation Influences on English Learning Student Outcomes at MA Salafiyah. Undergraduate Program, Nurul Jadid University. Advisor: Moh. Sofyan Adi Pranata, M.Li.

Keywords: Self-Efficacy, Learning Motivation, English Learning, Student Outcomes.

This research investigates the influence of self-efficacy and learning motivation on the English learning outcomes of students at MA Salafiyah, Probolinggo. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection through questionnaires and selective interviews. A sample of 55 students was selected using simple random sampling, and the quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS Version 25.The findings reveal several key insights. First, self-efficacy has a significant partial impact on learning outcomes, as evidenced by $t_{count} > t_{table}$ ($2.268 > 1.675$) with a significance level of $0.028 < 0.05$. Second, learning motivation also demonstrates a significant partial influence on English learning outcomes, with $t_{count} > t_{table}$ ($3.867 > 1.675$) and a significance level of $0.000 < 0.05$. Third, the simultaneous analysis confirms that self-efficacy and learning motivation collectively affect learning outcomes, indicated by an $F_{count}$ of $7.647 > F_{table}$ $3.59$ and a significance level of $0.001 < 0.05$. In all tests, the alternative hypothesis ($H_a$) was accepted. The qualitative findings suggest that these outcomes are influenced by both internal and external factors. Students with high self-efficacy tend to persist in achieving goals and possess confidence in their capabilities, while those with high motivation exhibit greater enthusiasm and dedication to learning. These conclusions underscore the critical role of psychological factors in improving academic performance in English at MA Salafiyah.
